- Are there any serious musicians that want to write and play original rock/alternative music in Tampa??? I moved here from San Diego in April 2005, and can't seem to find anyone serious about forming an original band.

I've posted ad's on wwww.craigslist.com, but it's sooo small here in Tampa - CL is huge in San Diego, why is it so small here??
I even had a job at the local Sam Ash in Clearwater so I could meet people, but I didn't even have any luck there (the guys working on the guitar floor were the biggest F#@ing jerks I've ever met (the other departments were fine) - but because of this hateful guitar-staff I'll never buy from SAM ASH again - what I terrible store. I think S.A. will probably be the next big music chain to die (btw, I also dislike Guitar Center, but you CAN still get a better price at G.C. then at S.A.).
Are there any other free places I can try???

- I'm into Rock, Hard Rock, Alternative, Progressive, Grunge, Blues, Fusion styles.
- I have decent gear: Guitars: Gibson, Fender, Ibanez, etc. / Amps: Mesa Boogie, Fender.

- I'm looking to try and write/play ORIGINAL MUSIC.
- I'd like to try and develop a fairly Marketable, yet Individual Sound.
- I'm looking for musicians that want to gig, and hopefully try to attract label interest - doesn't everyone?
- Covers are okay (everyone has to play covers from time to time), but I'd like to focus more on writing Original Material -- after all, how many cover bands really get signed?

Anyone out there wanna start a band?
I am a 20 yr old female singer/lyracist that wants to start or join a band. I have a few lyric songs written already-they just need the music to go with them. My style is alternative pop rock.
What I'm looking for: Two guitarists(a lead and bass player), a pianist or keyboardist and a drummer.
The ability to write sheet music/compose is a plus(I'm not too great with that part).
